let us know in the comments.
Let's begin our list with Number 10,
People adore Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky, but Alejandro Amenabar's Open Your Eyes remains an equally impressive and probably more artful piece of existential filmmaking. Amenabar's film features many of the same scenes as Vanilla Sky, but it takes the tale in somewhat darker directions at various points and never devolves into the sappy sentimentality of Crowe's film. Crowe's film devolves back into Say Anything mode at various points. Amenabar, on the other hand, crafts a uniquely existential vision of identity, a powerful deconstruction of all the elements that we use to define ourselves from our physical appearance to our friends to the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. Haunting, beautiful, and provocative, Open Your Eyes is a superbly directed, well-acted, stylish, and unforgettable piece of cinema that will make you question yourself, your friends and loved ones, and the universe around us.
Number 9,
Exceptional film that is near great. While a lot time travel films are a real stretch, "12 Monkeys" has a degree of plausibility (!) that makes it more compelling than the run of the mill back to the past feature. While I won't go in to any of the plot elements to avoid spoiling the film, Gilliam does a great job of creating a present and future that are so at odd that one could see why the the protagonist, James Cole (played brilliantly by Willis), would think he's crazy. Stowe gives a terrific turn as a skeptical psychiatrist who slowly and horrifically realizes that 'crazy' Willis maybe isn't. Pitt rounds out the leads as the totally believable nut job yet magnetic Jeffrey Goines. The ending is a twist that is just stunning. Gilliam's future sets and props are rather derivative of those from "Brazil", yet his featuring of numerous Philadelphia locales to provide a sense of the present is extremely well done. Masterful film that is well worth seeing.
Number 8,
Its definitely one of the best Hindi movies ever made. Direction, screenplay, narration, acting, music, cinematography, everything about this movie is top notch. Anurag Kashyap is truly the best at whatever he does. You wont even feel the length of 5 hours and 20 minutes. Manoj Bajpai's has proved once again that he is the powerhouse of acting. Not one scene is out of order and everything is properly explained with no questions unanswered. Dialogues are very sharp and as close to reality as it can get. The opening sequence in itself is a masterpiece. The way its scripted and executed is just mind blowing. All the bloodshed keeps getting more and more innovative. Its one of those movies that will always be mentioned everywhere whenever someone talks about the Indian cinema.
Number 7,
"Ideas are bulletproof." With that one line, V for Vendetta solidified its place in movie history. V for Vendetta is a beautiful masterpiece! Though there seem to be some plot holes, this movie presents its message well and is damn quotable. V for Vendetta takes place in a near-future dystopian Great Britain. It's a world where an unjust totalitarian regime takes over the government. The movie makes us question what role we have when governments are no longer just. The lineup and acting are superb. There couldn't have been a better cast to help deliver the message behind V for Vendetta. "V" delivers his lines with absolute charisma and charm. There are many, many quotable lines from this movie. The plot leaves the audience sitting at the edge of their seat as they learn more and more about V's world.
Number 6,
This movie is Guillermo Del Torro's masterpiece. It's thoughtful and creepy, fantastical and dark in a sum total that manages to be exhilarating, terrifying, and deeply moving. It's a fairy tale for adults, executed in a beautiful orchestra of set design, music, and a tour-de-force of performances from everyone involved. The story is complex and intricate, leaving the audience with plenty to discuss afterward. Content warnings: Several brief sudden outbursts of brutal violence Closest comparison: It's like Burnt By The Sun (1994) by way of Legend (1985), but far surpassing them both.

Number 5,
If you've ever had a weird dream that you thought for certain was real, or realized you were dreaming whilst in a dream, then Inception will make total sense. If not, then Inception may not have blown your mind like it did mine. With a strong cast, led by Leonardo Di Caprio in one of his more intense roles, and some awesome visual effects, Inception is an exciting, suspenseful mind bender with a clever script and a good sub-plot, that will keep you guessing until the end.
Number 4,
The Prestige is another incredible film from Christopher Nolan, once again proving himself as one of the greatest directors of all time. All of the performances from the incredible cast are exceptional, especially the leads Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, whose character's you really empathize with and are intrigued with. The jaw dropping final reveal is incredible, and ties all the movies mysteries together, whilst giving a satisfying but mind blowing ending. Very re watchable as the main appeal of the film are the twists, a must watch.
Number 3,
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Eternal sunshine is a work that is fascinating to me, it is a movie that perfectly reflects what a relationship is and such is its detail when telling us that it is being with a person that we think is the one that is familiar to us many of the situations and thoughts that we see throughout the footage, how we regret having met a certain person to the point of wanting to forget them, how we may regret this later, how our thoughts are out of place and with a null link of certain Situations directly affect what we see as functional. and the way in which this is expressed to us is impeccable, a direction that certainly leaves any movie lover satisfied. This together with the performances of Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are at the height of the plot in general, A MASTERPIECE.
Number 2,
A perverse and sadistic elitist, seeks revenge by capturing and torturing a businessman whom he holds a grudge against. I've heard about his Korean independent film a few times over the last decade but never watched it until now. OLDBOY does have a turn-of-the-Century feel to it, exemplified by OS graphics and extreme exposition. These dated characteristics don't detract from the film. They make the film. OLDBOY's twisted and perverse story is so over-the-top, brazenly provocative, and so thoroughly saturates its entire world, it's easy to take it all seriously as normative. The production is as twisted, hypnotic, and mysterious as the story, and pulls the audience along with a tight grip of the nose between the knuckles.
Number 1,
Fight Club is a cerebral, nauseating, and hilarious ride with excellent performances from Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, and Helena Bonham Carter. This was my third or fourth time watching the film, and it made me appreciate the film even more. Without giving anything away, there are dozens of hints and clues all throughout the film that something isn't right, and it's all the more satisfying to back and spot them once you know what's coming. The practical effects are gruesome and the directing is spot on, both in terms of choreographing fight sequences and portraying the struggles of mental health. This film is a classic stuffed with memorable scenes and quotes. Everyone should watch this movie.
