STAR WARS: 11 most successful STAR WARS film (according to audience)
What is it that makes a film successful?
Is it based on how much money it made?
Sure Thing! That's the point why film makers make movies, to entertain and make a ton of money but this list is not about the money, this is about which Lucas Film is loved by fans across the globe.

Buckle up as we dive into,.... All Star Wars films ranked from worst to best.
Counting down we begin at Number 11,
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)
While lackluster as a solo film, if you watch this in the context of the entire Clone Wars animated series, it serves as an appropriate overture. Re-watching this film 7 seasons later, I appreciate how they allowed ample room for the characters to grow. If you are committed to watching the entire series, this movie is a fantastic first step.
Number 10,
Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi (2017).
The only reason the audience score is so low is because old Star Wars fans are clouded by emotion. Objectively, this was a great stand alone film. It feels out of place as a Star Wars movie, but it's still way better than the fanfiction that is TFOS. TFOS lacks any substance and is entirely fanservice while this movie has depth and takes risks. Not everybody's cup of tea, but it is a good story with character development and amazing cinematography.
Number 9,
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002).
Great acting by Hayden absolutely nailed how an young boy who never learned how to properly socialize, lived most of his life as a slave and now was a teenager eager with so much love and passion to share, with in the end of course turned out not so great for a jedi, but the movie absolutely does his job of proper introducing the love story between Anakin and Padme, great story and even greater score by John Williams, absolute master piece that doesn't deserve the hate that it got on the release!
Number 8,
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999).
This film gets lots of hate and it is easy to understand why, but if you take a step back you can see that this is a good film. Some parts of the film are quite boring in fairness but they are completely outweighed by some galvanic scenes such as the pod race and the final duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-gon-jin against the iniquitous Darth Maul. This film is a really good start to the Skywalker saga in my opinion. In conclusion, this film is good and receives too much hate.
Number 7,
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).
"Watch your back, there's always someone ready to betray you"... That's the way I use to define this movie. Spin-offs generally arouse curiosity and this movie has the intention to lean on new "aficionados", especially those from the new generations. Plot and screenplay have both issues, for sure, but you may find this movie interesting if you consider the scenography, the performances, and the hilarity of some moments. Finally, not perfect but still an easy-to-watch movie.
Number 6,
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
Honestly, the best of the first part of the saga. There is a great story, great action, and a great conclusion that leads you to the beginning of the next films (filmed before these 3). They were not perfect, but they provided a lot of great scenes and memories to lead into the original films.
Number 5,
Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens (2015).
We are clearly beyond caring what chauvinistic Star Wars male geeks may say; this is by far the superior, most compelling, most deeply emotional and best technically made Star Wars movie ever released. Wonderful characters, gripping dialogue, suggestive sensitivity, and a stunning visual spectacle: The Force Awakens is a feast for the senses and a treat for the inner child of any educated, contemporary audience member.
Number 4,
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Satisfying tie-up to the Star Wars saga. Remained true to George Lucas original vision. The plot was exciting, suspenseful, and witty (where it needed to be). Downside: the film is too long. Some of the plot threads were extraneous. The movie would have flowed better if it was no more than 2 hours.
Number 3,
Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi (1983).
With the third and final installment of the original trilogy, STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI offers spectacular thrills and incredible imagery that will leave everyone on the edge of their seats right before it all comes together in a wild and unforgettable climax.
Number 2,
Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope (1977).
A unique and influential film that still continues to affect the world today, "A New Hope" remains one of the strongest "Star Wars" films to this day, providing insanely iconic scenes, lines, and characters that many people who haven't even seen the movie can recognize. The acting is done very well, and the worldbuilding is one of the best. This film also perfectly sets up the rest of the saga, introducing new characters and places while still leaving room for tons more to be added. The story and plot does begin to slow down after the second act finished, though it quickly picks up again during the attack on the Death Star. Overall, just a great film that continues to remain a timeless classic.
Number 1,
Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back (1980).
By many opinions, this is the best in the whole series. To 1980 audiences it was a surprise, a hugely entertaining mix of sci-fi spectacle, fantasy, and funny robots. George Lucas did not direct, but handed the reins toa. proven but unsung director named Irvin Kershner, who delivered a spectacle that is true to the Joe Campbell mythology and fairy tale wonder of the first movie. But this stands apart from the rest in terms of mature, straight forward storytelling. It's significant as the only film in the series not to have a big cantina scene in which the filmmakers over indulge in cramming the frame with all the wacky aliens they can.
